Wales Baltic |Society

Wales Baltic Society
We have an active membership of around 50 people, and we meet approximately once a month, at different venues throughout South Wales for social occasions, and for business meetings in Cardiff mainly. We are always pleased to welcome new members. The Society also offers an opportunity for us to make new friends from overseas, particularly from the Baltic States, who may be visiting Wales for holidays or study purposes, and who wish to get in touch with other Latvians, Lithuanians or Estonians while they are here.
At the Annual General Meeting of the Society, on 28th March 2010, the following officers were elected:
| Chairman | Andris Taurins | Secretary | Ieva McDonald | |
| PR and Assistant Secretary | Ann Taurins | Treasurer | Digna Liepa | |
| Membership Secretary | Ruta Sova | Auditor | Gwyn Edwards | |
| Additional committee member | Rita Price |

NEW EVENT
Sunday 11th September we visit St Fagans Castle and gardens in the National History Museum.
Conveniently for us the museum will be holding a food festival –
“From traditional Welsh fare to cutting edge cuisine; Cider to Samosas, Whisky to Welshcakes – there will be plenty to tickle the taste buds. Visitors to St Fagans Food Festival can taste and buy produce from more than 50 stalls nestling amongst the Museum’s re-constructed buildings, buy bread and cakes baked in the Museum’s own bakehouse and try home-made pork sausages made with meat from animals reared at the Museum.”
Getting there: The National History Museum (postcode CF5 6XB) is located 4 miles west of Cardiff City Centre, just off the A4232. Entry to the museum is free but there is a £3.50 parking charge per car per day.
Buses operate between Cardiff Central Bus Station and the St Fagans: National History Museum. Bus Nos 32 and 322 depart from Stand D2 to the Museum at regular intervals. Bus No 320 travels to St. Fagans village.
We plan to meet at 11 am, in the foyer at the main entrance, close to the car park. Please let Ieva McDonald know if you want to join us.
